Hey all, don’t forget–this Saturday night, September 11, we’re proud to celebrate the release of our first full length record, Van Van & Cleo May. C’mon down to the House of Blues Foundation Room, 15 Landsdowne St in Boston, at 10pm; admission is just $10 and half the proceeds go to the House of Blues Foundation charity, which brings art and music to the schools. We’re extra pleased to be joined by DJs Stacy and John Funke (Thursdays at the Independent; Backwoods on WMBR) who’ll spin some excellent records before and after a set by the band. See you Saturday night!

Hey friends, after much hullaballoo, its officially here! Our first full-length CD, Van Van and Cleo May, is out now. Head on over to the merch page to grab a copy! If you preordered, a big THANK YOU, and your discs will be arriving shortly.

We’ve got something for our fellow vinyl nerds too…this fall, we’ll have a vinyl single coming out on Cultures of Soul Records! Check this space for updates as we have em.

Back to Ryles, July 10…plus CD release party update!

Hey friends, just a quick head’s up to let you know that we’re back at one of our favorite spots, Ryles Jazz Club in Cambridge on Saturday July 10! As is our usual, we’ll be doing three sets of 60s soul, NOLA R&B and more, so please c’mon down and check it out. $10, 9pm, and tickets are available on the Ryles website. Its also our last public gig of the summer before our big CD release party at the House of Blues Boston on Sept 11…oh, we didn’t mention? WE’RE HAVING A CD RELEASE PARTY AT THE HOUSE OF BLUES ON SEPT 11! We’re really excited about that, could ya tell? They’re letting us in the fancy-schmancy Foundation Room, which is a gorgeous club upstairs that you usually can’t get into unless you’re a member. But for our party, its open to all for just $10, AND half of the door goes to the very worthy House of Blues Foundation charity. Can ya beat it? I don’t think ya can! Hey, we finally have some merch! If you look up at the top of the site there, you’ll see the new Buy Stuff! link. Right now, you can buy our fancy schmancy new tshirts (that’s the design over there on the left, sharp ain’t it?) AND you can preorder copies of our new record, Van Van & Cleo May! The CDs will ship on or around July 30, so get em early.

Hey gang, we’re very pleased to announce that we’re joining our friends The Slackers on a couple dates in June! Friday, June 4 we’ll be opening up their CD release at the beautiful Highline Ballroom in NYC (www.highlineballroom.com for tickets and details); then, the following Friday June 11, we’ll be joining them for their Boston CD release at Harper’s Ferry in Allston (www.harpersferryboston.com for tickets and details). We’re super psyched…though not quite as psyched as we are to announce that OUR CD IS COMING OUT FINALLY, WOO!!!! Its gonna be called Van Van & Cleo May and a little birdie says that there just might be some pre-release copies available at The Slackers shows, so come down and check it out. We’ve also got some tshirts and buttons available… get em at the shows, or order online soon. More exciting news re: an actual CD release party later in the summer is coming up soon… stay tuned.

Hey, we’re puttin the final touches on the new record, but in the meantime, we got some killer gigs coming up. Tonight, March 5, we’re proud to be part of Jenny Dee and the Deelinquents CD release extravaganza at TT the Bears, with the amazing Barrence Whitfield, plus Gene Dante and the Future Starlets and mo’!

Then right after that, we’re off to NYC next Friday, March 12 for Brooklyn’s Got Soul! at the Waterbury Social Club in Williamsburg. We’re real excited to be playing this KICKASS bill with some of the best DJs goin’, hosted by our friend Agent Jay of the Slackers. All the deets are below, so c’mon out and bring dem drinkin shoes…

Hello Friends! Its been a busy summer and we haven’t stopped for a second. We’re officially underway with the production of our new album, out a bit later this year. But we miss you, so we’ve got a few cool gigs over the next couple months, and hope you’ll come out n’ see us sometime! And we want you to especially be sure to catch us on Saturday, September 26th as we celebrate the annual Somerville tradition known as FLUFF Fest. We’re so excited to be part of this year’s party in Union Square (outside, right in front of Precinct and the Independent), celebrating Fluff…yes, marshmallow fluff, the fun half of a fluffernutter, invented right here in Somerville. So come on down, party all day (its free!), enjoy some marshmallowy goodness, and catch a set from yours trulies at 6pm. See you in the Square!

I know its hard to imagine that its summer, what with our friend the sun having taken a seemingly permanent hiatus. But like a salve to a worried mind, we’ve got a great show coming up in just a couple weeks that’s sure to bring you in out of the rain and make you feel like maybe, just maybe, a kinder gentler season might be right around the corner. The very fine folks at the Arsenal Center for the Arts in Watertown have been kind enough to have us in as part of their top-notch Summer Pops Concert Series, on Tuesday, July 14 at 7:30pm. It takes place in Watertown at the lovely Charles Moresian Theater, and tickets are available through their website or by calling 617-923-8487. I guarantee there’s no better way to shake off the rain and warm those bones than with a snifter full of sunshiney southern soul! See you there.

Sunday Saints Return to Ryles, this Saturday!

I have to level with you: I’m not the kind of girl that gets invited back twice to most classy establishments…unless its by court order. But this Saturday night, June 20, the very fine and VERY classy folks at Ryles Jazz Club in Inman Square, Cambridge have–kindly or foolishly, we’ll see–invited myself and your Sunday Saints back to the scene of the crime. They’ve yet again given us a whole night to ourselves to do with as we wish. I’ve promised, crossed my heart and etcetera to act like a perfect lady AND to fill the evening with three big big sets of the soul and R&B hellfire hullaballoo you’ve come to expect from us. And I can guarantee, at least one of these promises shall be kept. The evening begins at 10pm, see you there!
